Flexible and Blended Learning is a learner-centred approach to education that combines face-to-face instruction with online and digital learning methods. The course focuses on equipping learners and educators with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively plan, deliver, and participate in learning experiences that allow flexibility in time, place, pace, and mode of study.
Throughout the course, learners are introduced to key concepts such as online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), digital content creation, and the use of multimedia tools to support teaching and learning. Emphasis is placed on active learning, collaboration, and continuous assessment through both online and physical interactions.
The course also addresses instructional design, learner support strategies, assessment methods in blended environments, and the role of technology in enhancing access, inclusivity, and lifelong learning. Learners gain practical skills in managing online discussions, submitting assignments electronically, and engaging in self-directed learning.
By the end of the course, learners are able to effectively participate in or facilitate flexible and blended learning environments, apply digital tools responsibly, and adapt to modern educational settings in line with current technological and educational trends.
